NSWIB Speakers
NSWIB strives to provide programs that meet membership needs. All programming
is intended to address the professional development of our members. To
identify programs and topics of interest, the Program Committee’s
goal is to distribute an annual survey to members. Survey responses provide
the guidelines for special event planning and topic selection for the
following year.
Based upon identified membership needs, the program committee selects
speakers with demonstrated expertise in the topic area and skill in disseminating
information clearly and concisely. Previous experience in public speaking
is strongly recommended, but not required.
Potential speakers may come from both inside and outside NSWIB. However,
preference is not given to members. Speakers are not present to sell their
services but rather to share knowledge and experience with NSWIB members
and guests. Self-promotion is permitted during the networking portion
of our program and after our event. Promotional material may be placed
on the dining tables. Speakers are also permitted to sell their products
at the conclusion of the meeting. Speakers are not paid for their presentations
or expenses. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the committee
chair.
These above policies & procedures were created 2/11/04 and approved
by the NSWIB Board of Directors 2/26/04.
