About North Shore Women In Business MeetingsNSWIB typically conducts morning meetings for members and guests on the third Thursday of each month. Registration begins at 7 am and the meeting runs from 7:30 am to 9 am. The exceptions to the schedule are as follows: March Luncheon Meeting: Registration begins at 11:30 am; meeting begins at Noon and ends by 2 pm. The featured speaker is usually an area celebrity or well known, influential woman in the local/regional business community. The speaker, location and meeting price is announced prior to the meeting. May Annual Fund Raising Event: For the past three years, NSWIB has featured a wine and food tasting event which replaces the annual auction that the organization ran each fall. This is the major fund raiser for the organization; the revenue raised helps NSWIB continue to offer programs that help our members learn and grow. Additionally, a portion of the funds are allocated as a donation to HAWC (Home for Abused Women and Children); the donation is presented at the holiday breakfast meeting in December. June Luncheon Meeting: Registration begins at 11:30 am; meeting begins at Noon and ends at either 1:30 or 2 pm. The focus of this luncheon is to recognize NSWIB members who have contributed to the organization via participation in committees. Entitled "The Spirit of NSWIB Awards", numerous women are recognized for their ongoing commitment. This event began in June of 2007 and replaces the NSWIB Woman of the Year Luncheon. October Annual Dinner & Extreme Makeover Reveal: In 2006 NSWIB directors decided to bring back the annual meeting to install new officers and directors and to show appreciation to outgoing members. Additionally, with the introduction of the NSWIB Extreme Makeover Business Edition, it was decided that this was the appropriate time to introduce, or "reveal", the Makeover recipient. The location will vary and is announced a month prior to the event. NSWIB Business Showcase: This meeting is free to all attendees (members and guest) and occurs the first or second week of November. Member exhibitors register for full or half tables and showcase their products and services to participants during this morning event. Exhibitors must be NSWIB members to participate. Registration for event is distributed two to three months prior to the meeting; early bird registration incentives are offered. Showcase attendees are not required to pre-register for the event and may register upon entrance to the showcase. A raffle item is offered during this event as well.
